NOAH Economic Equity & Jobs Task Force

NOAH's Economic Equity & Jobs Task Force spent many hours in research meetings about Nashville's development and who is benefitting.  In "The 'It' City," economic growth is increasing -- but so is poverty!  On February 22nd, the Task Force made a presentation at NOAH's Public Meeting with Mayoral Candidates, entitled "A Tale of Two Nashvilles" -- illustrating that everyone is NOT benefitting from Nashville's growth.   All 8 of the candidates for Mayor committed to work with NOAH on our issues platform, which includes Economic Equity & Jobs.

We want to be ready to begin negotiations with the new Mayor when he or she is elected.  So our research is continuing -- looking at ways to create good-paying jobs.   The Task Force is also looking at actions that we can take NOW to make a difference in Nashville.  Come and join in!  (Your congregation, union, or group does NOT have to be a NOAH member for you to participate in the Task Forces.)
